i've never been the school spirit type, never bothered to go to THE GAME, didn't own an item of YALE merchandise until i realized, last week, that i hadn't packed a sweatshirt. even so, even though i wore red this morning before changing into a reluctant, faded blue, this, recorded during yesterday's lunch in davenport, planned and performed by students who sat down to eat before bursting into song, taken from my favorite musical and transformed into a countdown to the largest event of the academic year, the one i consistently avoid by boarding a train to teaneck and shrugging when my father tells me the score, gives me chills:

i panicked a little when the professor of, joke of jokes, the graduate drawing seminar asked each of us to bring in three drawings. naturally, i asked the facebook for ideas.
john henry's idea: "a sweeping reimagining of the book of exodus with ewoks."

i find my entries petty and, once again, have had a bit of a rendezvous with the DELETE key. still, i had to preserve the following. for posterity:
" ... the other was pasha, a russian computer scientist, who went on about, as he pronounced, THE SEX PEEJAMA FOR THE ASTRONAUT, DEESIGN TO COUNTERACT THE EQUAL AND OPPOSITE TO THE THRUSTING."
i will probably write again, and very, very soon, and about something DEEP and MEANINGFUL like UTER-US vs. UTER-YOU or, i don't know, DRAWING KITTENS, but in the meantime, have been posting to http://sarahmoses.tumblr.com/. about food, mostly. i find that tasting eel or reindeer or cake tends to inspire a story or, at the very least, a mildly offensive JESUS reference.
